Content is king in 2024. Some of the worlds faovrite surfers don't compete on tour (also, we'd like to say we told you so about double John taking out the WSL finals) but rather create weekly videos for the surf population to consume. Think Jamie O'brien, Ben Gravy, Brett Barley, and Jacob Zekely. There's plenty more than those, but you get the idea. IPD is always keeping up with the times, so we post weekly surf and skate videos for you to tune in to. See our seven recent clips we love below.
HURRICANE SURF
We’ve had a decent summer of surf in Orange County. The good has been consistent combo swell, decent winds, and water temps that have hovered around 70 for a little while now. With the warm water sticking around, board shorts and a wetsuit top have been the go-to for the sessions, and no top needed when the sun comes out. Early august, however, we got the biggest surf we had seen all summer, with a tropical storm delivering waves to Orange County. With a steep angle, this was one of the most selective tracks as far as what spots were good. While Newport Point was firing and crowded, Caleb, Beck, and Kolton went the road less traveled and found some gems. All before a US Open signing at HSS, this was a good day in the life of a pro surfer.
CLUB AT LOWERS
Caleb Crozier rips. You already knew that, but just incase you didn’t now you do. Living down in north county san deigo, it’s a quick trip up the 405 to get to Lowers. With Caleb mounting up for an east coast contest season following the North American WQS schedule, there’s no better place to sharpen the tools than lowers. While the waves out east won’t exactly look like this, dialing in boards and body movements is essential. Press play and watch Caleb do his thing.
GREY RIPS TO TURNSTILE
Grey Walker went to Oahu in the summer. While Hawaii is known for it’s winter swells, especially oahu, it actually can pump in the summer as well. Last year we ran wave of da summah, and the season was a little slow. This year, much like California, there has been consistent swell around town and even some standout days. Watch Grey surf to a live turnstile track, a la the old lost videos that often featured live versions of songs for a more raw viewing experience.
PASSPORT
Two of the biggest parties we’ve had at HQ were for No Passport and Passport. The two movie trilogy from Mr. Ty Burgess in combination with Morning Mixtapes (Joey) is an epic watch if you are not familiar. While we love No Passport, set to local orange county spots, it was awesome watching Ty send it in Indo in this radical clip set to some great tunes.
COREY POOLS VISION QUEST
Everyone loves getting barreled. And by the looks of this clip, it seems like Corey Pool feels the same. Scoring barrels all over, CP brings the gopro along for the ride to deliver mesmerizing clips from inside the tube. For those who aren’t fortunate enough to get consistent barreling waves, crack open your favorite beverage and press play. Your day of tubes will come, but for now live through the eyes that won’t dry of Corey.
TEAM MIXTAPE 004
Our Team Mixtape and ATV series are all killer no filler. While the ATV series mixes surf with skate and snow, the team mixtapes are just classic surf clips featuring multiple IPD team riders. 004 is a special one, since it features all our international team riders. We are super proud to have all these guys flying the IPD flag outside of America.
NATURAL OCCURENCE VJ BROWN
VJ delivers a full length part with multiple songs set all around California and even some bits outside of it. Iconic San Francisco spots meets classic Ventura and Oxnard zones. You can always count on VJ to deliver a banger clip (edited by himself) and also a solid soundtrack to the ripping.
