Here are some tips for watering flowers:
Water deeply: Watering deeply and less frequently is better than watering often and shallowly because it allows water to reach the roots. Deep watering can also encourage plants to seek out water further from the root ball.
Water the soil: Pour water onto the base of the plant, or the soil, instead of the flowers or leaves. This ensures that the water reaches the roots, where it's needed.
Water around the whole plant: Water generously enough to reach the entire root system.
Use room temperature water: Use water that's around 90° F or room temperature.
Change the water: If you're watering cut flowers, change the water out regularly to prevent bacteria buildup that can reduce food absorption. You can also recut the stems at the same time.
Use a soaker hose: Soaker hoses are a good option for watering flowerbeds and vegetable gardens because they gently release water along the entire length of the hose, keeping the leaves dry and reducing the risk of disease.
Use the right amount: If you're watering flowers in a vase, fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full with water.
